Hazard a guess, How many d

Recommended Posts

Before ya all have a go at me, I have done a search to no avail :-P

There was a storm up for £620 odd Cat B the other day on the net and there are countless others been broke for spares every month.

Just wondering, out of the 9000 odd rados imported into the uk how many d'ya recon are left?

Lets start with the easy one.

500 Storm's

3200 Vr6

3500 1.8 Valvers and G 60's

1800 2.0ltr Valver's

Hmmmmmmm?

GolfNutz in Northwich has about 10 rear hatches on a shelf in their storeroom... points to quite a few broken there then... :|

If there's more than 2000 G60s left on the roads I'd be VERY suprised... :(

As heart breaking as it must be to lose a C, it does help the rest of us to have some busted ones kicking around for spares, especially as VW are now obsoleting quite a few interior parts!

well i have 3 ex uk cars, 1 2.0 16v and 2 G60's, one of the G60's is very bad, so really only suitable for parts, but i will keep it as is for the moment and maybe re build it to the road

Not counting the aftermarket imported Rados like my US-spec G60 (which funnily enough went from the US to Germany first - US Forces soldier), I suppose

Someone posted some stats up for the number of Cs left in Germany a while ago and it worked out at something just under half were left on the road. I'd guess it's probably similar in the UK...

I would go with that Dom. Only Jims G60 knows the reason I asked the question in the first place but goes along the line of "supply and demand"

I remember around abt 97/98 when there were a hand full of storms on Stealers forecourts that were ex company high milers. so by my reckoning there can't be much more than 250 Storms left and at another guess I would say there are less than half again below 100k mls.

so the big question would be, would you all say the following would generally be true?

250 Storm's

1600 Vr6

1750 1.8 Valvers and G 60's

900 2.0ltr Valver's

How many are left that aren't as rough as a badger's arse.

Hard to say, not having studdied the glutismaximus of Badger :D

but I would say there are the good the bad and the ugly.

at a guess, I would suppose that the vast majority would be around good to fair given the fact that most have coppind-on that the Corrado is a timeless classic and well sought after. Guess 65%. Very good to good condition low milers at a guess 20%

and fair to rough at a guess 15%, Low I know but these are the next crop for the strippers

I know of 1 in a museum in Germany. That is a Storm Blue 1 I think.

Hmmmmm Wonder if they would be open to offers. Mind you the engine would need a good run

According to my local VW specialist, the last corrado ever made was a British spec green storm, which is on display/stored at the factory(VW factory, not at Karman coachworks), with delivery miles! how much could that be worth in this country

Not sure its got delivery miles as it was shipped to the UK with the rest of the Storms and then driven back to the Karmann museum for a Top Gear article back in 1995...
