Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 15, 2005 Nelson Wilbury is the guy to speak to as he seems to know them well. Try the TT forums too....
munkay 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Main point to look out for is unwanted attention from 40yr year old lonely housewives :)

RACK 0 Posted February 16, 2005 I'll have a look on the TT forum in a bit. I keep winding him up asking if he's gonna join So Solid Crew!!! Cheers for the replies RACK
godskitchen 0 Posted February 16, 2005 There was a chap at the last MK meet who had a TT (sorry dude i am really bad with names!) he is moving to AZ, anyway he had a TT before his VR6 and he really did not have anythnig good to say about them! IMHO your brother should WAIT the TT is about to be replaced soon and the price of the current one will drop like a 14 year olds dangles!!!!!! There are so many around that the price will go through the floor as all the IPOD loving trendy TT drivers will want the newest!
Bobronk 0 Posted February 16, 2005 That would be me. I had a 180 TT, liked the look of the car, interior was real nice but that was it. Loads of problems from corroded wires to a new instrument cluster which would of cost £800+ with out the warrantee. Gear box was awfull, my wife couldn't even drive it. Had the car for just over two years and lost £1000's. Don't get one, VR6 is x10 better.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah TT is a total hairdresser car! Except the 3.2 V6 and the twin engined MTM TTs 8)
godskitchen 0 Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah TT is a total hairdresser car! :D:D I dont know how much hair dressers get paid where you live! hairdressers care here is like an escort convertable!
RACK 0 Posted February 17, 2005 Well, his MGF goes in the trader today. So he's does get some stick from me for being a hairdresser, with the TT he might look like a Salon owner with the TT. But then again I don't know many hairdressers who earn £800 a week! Not that I'm jealous of my kid brother you understand (little feka!)
rado-steve 0 Posted February 18, 2005 wtf does he do to earn 800 smackers a week!!! My hairdresser driver a boxster, so i think we is all in the wrong business!!

samm_cvr6 0 Posted February 20, 2005 I'm also a builder and take it from me, I have worked with a gang that earn up to £400 a day!!!!!!!!!! but they are maniacs. You get tennis elbow by 40 so best to get out early. Back to topic- I would only get the 225, 180 just seems a bit panzy- and you know the saying, all show and no go. The final nail in the coffin was the so solid crew- the video where one of them says "Is that mega, in a tt" so cringing. Would defo get a Leon R 225 on 18's, remapped will whoop a TT. Pat_McCrotch 0 Posted February 26, 2005 Nelson Wilbury is the guy to speak to as he seems to know them well. If hes buying new, tell him to place an order for the either a 3.2 or the new TT Quattro Sport, these are in all honesty the only TT's worth bothering with, more so with the Sport as they've actually seem to have made a decent effort with it. RACK 0 Posted February 26, 2005 He's waiting till he's sold his MGF, Yep another hairdressers car! There's a nice blue 180 going for about £12K not far from use so we might be going to look at that soon. He's not quite rich enough to get a new one. Plus the insurance on the 3.2 might be a bit dear, he's only 21. As long as my tuned up G60 leaves him I'll be happy, looks are nothing without the power to back them up!!!
