Neil L. 0 Posted February 15, 2005 Can anyone give me a quick explanation on wheel offsets (et) etc. as im looking for a set of 17's (probably!) to fit my 94' VR6. What would be the best offset for this car and also how wide could i go (7.5/8/8.5) in relation to these ET's?For example what does a et of 30 or 35 mean? :? slot 0 Posted February 15, 2005 The lower your number (ET), the more the wheel will sit under your arch Take mine for eg : ET 35 with a 8J wide rim , not a prob !! ;)

Riley 0 Posted February 15, 2005 the lower the et/offset,the more the wheel will sit proud of the wheel arch. et/offset is the following measurement... eg=an 8" wide wheel,et35. imagine a line through the center at 4". now measure the distance from the center line to the inside of the wheel where it sits on the hub. this is the et/offset,35mm from the center of the wheel to the mounting face. :thumbleft:

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 17, 2005 I run 8 x 17 ET 40 with no rubbing, which is spot on and as close to the factory ET as possible, which is ET43 on the VR.
