gradeAfailure 0 Posted February 20, 2005 So, I won my lovely lovely 17" Borbet A's on eBay today and am looking forward to getting them fitted, but... they're 7.5" wide with an ET of 35 - am currently running 7x15s on ET35 and they are just level with the bodywork, so I'm thinking I may have to get the Borbets macined down to make them ET38 or so to try and keep 'em under the arches! :) The question is; has anyone had their wheels machined to alter the offset, and how straightforward is it? I work in engineering and so know a few machine shops, but if anyone knows of a specialist then that would be better! Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 21, 2005 If the metal where the bolt passes through is too thin, you won't be able to remove any more. Most wheel manufactures make the wheel just thick enough to do the job and no more....if you start shaving then you'll compromise the wheel's strength.
