craigbeal 0 Posted February 23, 2005 Want to spray my front grill but cant get hold of my colour. Is there anywhere i could order that colour spray cos the local VW dealership cant get it :( Or is there anything similar?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted February 23, 2005 Try a local auto paint specialist. VW obsoleted my paint too, but my local paint place can still make up tins of spray no problem and Halfords superstores are now able to make up large touch up packs to any colour. edd 0 Posted February 24, 2005 Yeah as kevs says auto paint shop should easily sort you out. i get spray tins made up from A place called Partco in Gloucester, code LC6V. £10 a can and is more than enough to cover most things, VR6 engine cover rear number plate panel, handles etc - halfords laquer seems okay tho. Wouldn't touch halfords mixers if you can avoid it tho mate, i gave up after several returned visits, one tin was more of a nova blue (sky blue) than my dark classic green. :) Gd Luck

kvwloon 0 Posted February 25, 2005 Yep, code is LD6U for pearlescent Dark Green (the exciting official name for the colour). Not common it seems (mine was the only one at Woburn '03 for example. Never been able to get any paint factors yet to succesfully mix it, as never found one with a list that includes LD6U. I like to think of it as more of a dark grey than green!
