What a day! cured one problem, created 2 more!

Recommended Posts

Ok, so I had nothing to do today, so I thought i'd find the cause of a rattle in my door trim. Took the door card off and hey presto, the speaker was rattling. Bolted this down securely, and problem solved.

However, managed to know the door pin rod out of the lock and cant bl**dy see where its supposed to go. the access hole is tiny! Do I have to take the lock out to put this back in?

Also, the electric mirror adjuster broke in my hand as i took it out, with tiny springs and plastic going everywhere. No idea how to put it back together and i think a spring went awol anyway. Anyone know if these are still available from the stealers, or anyone got one spare?

ARRRGGHH! Fixed one problem only to create myself 2 more!!!!

Cheers all, hope you had a good weekend.

Taking the lock out is easy mate, its only 2 allen key bolts, 6mm if i mind right. I cand quite think off the top of my head which rod your talking about but ive had my lock and door handle off and it wasnt a lot of grief to put it back in, if this is no use then pics might be of some use

Did the same with mine! You can fit the door pin back in without taking the whole lock out, but its fiddly. It fits into the small white lever inside the door, the right-angled end-bit clips into a small hole in the lever. Difficult to explain, but with a torch and some wiggling you can fix it.

cheers, I'll try putting the pin in back in tonight.

Phoned a couple of breakers and no one had a passat, so I had to go to the stealers! £45, Jeez!!! Suppose it was a bit of a bonus that they had one in stock though.
