Water pump.. PM Supercharged as there is something about VW doing them at a good price on an exchange basis but I dont remeber the specifics, but he'll know :)

Not sure on the starter motor, but I dont see any reason why the GSF part for something like the starter wouldnt be good enough :)

I would go factory on the water pump as they are hard to get out and it is worth paying the extra to know it is going to last. I would go where ever for the starter, the last one I got for my A2 was a Bosch re-man and it wasn't very well built. My replacement alternator for the same car was a Bosch rebuild and the rear case was installed 90 degrees out of wack.

Yeah, get the whole water pump assembly new from VAG and the starter motor will also be cheaper if you get a decent discount...

The thing about VAG exchange parts is the ones they give you are always brand new...

Get the starter motor from GSF (MUCH cheaper than VAG, for the same part, even comes in a VW/bosch box!)

Waterpump from VW if they're only £28! 8)

Got my starter motor from GSF, too, after I tried one from my local scrappie, which lasted a whopping 3 months  I then decided to get a remanufactured one from GSF, as I didn't want to keep practising exchanging the starter mottor  I think GSF charged £75 on an exchange basis.
