Anyone did such modification: SLK kompressor on G60 engine?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering, if anybody did such modification, I mean replace g60 with mercedes kompressor. If so what problems did you met? What other modifications had to be done?

P.S. it would be great to see some pictures...

Thanks

I know that one of the guys in the Corrado Club of Canada has done it, as his car is pictured in the calender. Might be worth popping onto their forum and asking about though.

Good luck,

Cheers,

Tom

I believe that TSR offer these conversions i.e. substitute the G60 charger for an Eaton charger that is used on the Merc Kompressor models. IIRC they were charging about £2000 for the complete conversion fitted with all brackets and pipework etc.

Cheers

I believe reliability is one of the reasons.. possibly more efficient than the g-lader? Different sound all together as well.. But then whoever really needed a reason for doing some of the mods they do.. its something different, and a bit of an engineering challenge! :)

What is the point? More boost? More power? More reliability? More quietness?

Firstly it is more reliable, and second more boost.
