Slimbo 0 Posted June 15, 2005 My mechanic friend reckons that my car won't fail its MOT with only one working front fog light as cars don't need to have front fog lights. I thought that if your car had something, then it had to work. Who's right?
h100vw 0 Posted June 15, 2005 He is right, there is no requirement to have front fogs in the UK. They shouldn'y even be checked Gavin

Slimbo 0 Posted June 15, 2005 It looks like Kent Brockman is right, accoring to the Q&A section on http://www.motester.co.uk: If front fog lamps are fitted to the vehicle, would the vehicle pass an MOT if they were not working (even though they are an optional extra) - Stuart Molyneux Front fog lamps are not part of the MOT - MOTT
blackcat 0 Posted June 15, 2005 i thought if they are on the car then they need to work?? I think that only applies to third brake lights, you don't have to have one but if you do it has to work.
Neil VR6 0 Posted June 15, 2005 Neither of mine work and it sailed through its MOT (apart from the seized rear brake caliper :) )
CazzaVR 0 Posted June 15, 2005 Yeh, mine weren't even checked at my last MOT.
