dan 0 Posted January 14, 2003 I was brousing the net the other day looking for superchargers and came across a product called 'SpiralMax'. It's no supercharger but apparently it can improve the performance of any car. It works by twisting the air that comes in through the air filter and, the twisting of air helps the combustion within the engine therefore increased efficiency and power. It only costs $69, Anyone have any experience of these? They have a web page at SpiralMax.com if you fancy a look.
Banana Man 0 Posted January 14, 2003 Hi dan that product sounds similar to a product that was launched over here a few years ago it was the called the turbozit or something, they weren't very popular and didn't substansiate the claims of extra power upto 20% or something they had quoted. I haven't seen them advertised anywhere for a while so I guess they're not available anymore. I wouldn't bother with a product like that go with the traditional mods that are guranteed to give you power increases!!
dan 0 Posted January 14, 2003 Yeah, that's what I thought. Their web page looks a bit dodgy as well.
16VG60 1 Posted January 14, 2003 A product is available that incorporates the principles of this form of induction. Green cotton produce the "Twister" air filters. These are induction type filter kits that incorporate the cone filter in a alloy case, shielding the filter from drawing in unwanted hot engine air. They have been proven to be very successful at what they do as the twisting action induced cleans the action of the airflow and reduces turbulence. I indeed have two of these items for sale, as they are excess to my requirements, if anyone is interested see parts for sale.

G60ING 0 Posted January 15, 2003 I've seen these things on TV they are just crap. Take a soda can and cut it up and save yourself the $$$. As for Air filter with a housing http://www.prmracing.com/ these work very good. Now about those spiral max remember they are before your charger and could get ingested before your wallet gets digested by a charger seller. A friend of mine had one of the after market cone filters that has the centerof the top of the cone as an inverted cone with a small chrome cap in the center. well the heat caused the glue holding the cap to loosen and then the charger swallowed her. GazzaG60 0 Posted January 15, 2003 i got one o those. had to re glue it a couple of times. not the small cone but the edging on the bottom of the large cone. always seemed to be sturdy though thats why i repaired instead of binned. goona bin and get a new one. what do people use. i know the air box is supposed to be better but in my experience it aint. I cant wake the neighbours without it too

G60ING 0 Posted January 15, 2003 well I can't use an air box on my charger so I use K&N filters only.
