sump problem

tried a search, took me ages found nothin.

 

my sump is rusted, nothin major i hope, i'm lookin to re-place it

 

does anyone know where i could get one from? how much would it cost me? is it a simple replacement, once oil drained.

 

2.9 VR.

Just get one from the stealers (not sure of the price) along with new gasket and plug. Easy job, make sure you torque the many bolts to the right amount though.

VW sell 'em. Don't think they're too pricey new.

Don't know how hard it is, I don't believe it's too tricky though.

I believe that there is a plate at the flywheel end that needs to be removed to get at a few of the bolts - not difficult.

 

And do the bolts up rather as you would a cylinder head, i.e. from one side to the other and progressively tighter.

I did thge one on my golf highline after I came home from offshore and there was oil on the drive!!! Women and speed bumps i don't know!!!

Was a doddle to do and as said previous you have to remove a small plate that covers the flywheel!! 1 hour tops to change!!

£80 from stealer is true enough too
