nolan 0 Posted July 18, 2003 My 1995 Corrado VR6 has recently developed a squeaky noise whenever the clutch pedal is depressed and released :( The clutch has only covered 50k and seems in perfect order. Any advice on how to solve this problem would be appreciated. :D Cheers
stevemac 0 Posted July 18, 2003 Possible clutch master cylinder problem (fits to bulkhead in engine compartment and connects to pedal)
VR Zen 0 Posted July 18, 2003 Yes i have the same problem, i thought it was the spring so was under the dash giving it a spray with WD, it went away than came back again
Scott 0 Posted July 18, 2003 Mine squeaked for about a month before it broke.....
sc16v 0 Posted July 18, 2003 Use some proper grease or copper grease on it, wd40 will break down after a while and thats why the noise has come back.
Joe M 0 Posted July 18, 2003 I get this as well, will need to give the grease a go.
vr6storm 0 Posted July 18, 2003 mine developed a very strange noise at the start of this year too.....kind of like a noise made by squeezing an empty plastic drinks bottle.........turned out to be the lower dashboard trim warps with heat and fractionally interferes with the movement of the clutch pedal causing the noise whenever the clutch pedal is depressed and released............after weeks of driving me crazy it all of a sudden disappeared :? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 19, 2003 A squeak or a creak? A lot of VR6s make a creaking sound when pressing and releasing the pedal. I had Vince check it out when I had my clutch done and he said it was coming from the bellhousing as I pressed the pedal, while he listened. Anyway, we checked everything thoroughly when the box was off and found nothing that would cause that noise, but I have my own theory...... On the actuator arm inside the box, there is an orange ceramic ball on the end of it which sits in a cup on the release bearing holder. I think the noise is just that ceramic ball 'creaking' in the metal cup because it has no grease on it. As I say, I've heard a few VR6s do this, both high and low mileage and I don't think it's anything to worry about. Kev
Joe M 0 Posted July 20, 2003 Mine has made the creak you describe since I got the car, its more noticable on the outside. I asked at Bedrock about it and he said its nothing to worry about. I now also seem ti have a squeek that is heard from inside the car.

I know what's causing it and it's nothing important. Just put some copper grease on the ceramic ball I described above when changing the clutch.
