Part number help needed!

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This part is the cause of my running probs! VW thought they'd ordered me a new one, but got the wrong thing. We then spent over an hour trying to find it on their computer but to no avail :(

It's the black plastic disc shaped thing in the midle of the pic, with a hose coming off each side with metal clips. One of thse hoses has completely sheared off.

Be really gratful if someone could identify it and find the part number for me.

Cheers!

Hi andy I ve had a look on ekta and the only thing that I can find that remotely looks like what you have there is part no# 034-133-283 and it's description is ' dashpot' whatever that means. Is there no part number on the part you have as the dealer would be able to tap in the number and bring it up.

Hope this helps!!

As written earlier by Charlie (and others), ford part number is F7364573.

Finally ordered one today. The picture on the computer looked

identical, and it comes in at a very healthy £18.42 instead of the

HUGE £140 VW want for the assembly.

He said it should come in tomorrow...

I'll let folks know how I get on, if anyone's interested.

You should also note that - in the picture you posted - the hose from the t/b to the carbon canister has been severed and not plugged.

This will do drastic things to the running of you're car...

Mike, that is a picture from my car - and it is plugged - you can clearly see the brass plug in the tubing.

Cheers, let us know how you get on :)

VW called to say they THINK :? they have the correct part now, will go and get it this afternoon (was £60 ish). If it's wrong again, I'll go for the Ford bit.
