VR6 0 Posted July 23, 2005 Hasn't Asim's given a varying degree of outputs though? As you would expect as much from different RR's as well.. 212bhp at Stealth, 210bhp at AmD so pretty consistent I'd say? ECU standard too - it's been checked. Not doubting figures Asim :) Were those figures based on a best of three runs, for example, though?

MoonlightVR 0 Posted July 23, 2005 Not doubting figures Asim :) Were those figures based on a best of three runs, for example, though? I know mate :) The best figure is always the first run, due to the massive heat build up you get on a RR. No cooling fan substitutes the normal airflow you get doing 100mph on a road so subsequent runs see a significant rise in intake temps = lower figures. Both bhp figures quoted above were done on CCGB RR days - so were benchmarked against other VRs on the day - this is what makes them credible in my book

Not having been on an RR, I don't know, but I had expected that they normalise the power output reading against an inlet air temperature? Shouldn't be too difficult with a PRT next to the air filter, for example.
Stan 24v 0 Posted August 19, 2005 How much £ are BBR chips? Is it easy to fit them?
h100vw 0 Posted August 19, 2005 How much £ are BBR chips? Is it easy to fit them? I have had ECUs to bits. Not sure if they are plugin or piggy back but either way it can't be that hard. I am sure that you have messed with much more expensive gear 'in your time'!!
Stan 24v 0 Posted August 19, 2005 No doubts I have, (Jaguar INU = £250k!!!) but I dont have to pay for new ones of them ;)
h100vw 0 Posted August 19, 2005 There is that, get another off the shelf attitude where I work too. Got to keep the lads in the bay busy
vdubjb 0 Posted August 19, 2005 on every RR I've done, the 3 pull has always been the highest.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 20, 2005 I have yet to see a Corrado with a stage 2 dyno that high...including mine. Your engine is 2.8 is it not? And your climate is different. UK Corrados with Stage 2 will make 290 at the crank the first time you run it on the rollers, and as the charger gets progressively hotter, then the power slowly reduces to about 250 after successive runs. This is why stage 3 and/or water/meth injection is needed to get consistent power.
