Amp wiring problem

Ok as i am a newb to this need abit of help how do i fit the power cable to the amp? sounds daft but the cable is well thick yet the amp only has a small power clamping point???

dont want todo something daft and mess it all up!!!

any advice would be appreciated.... :!: :oops:

If you trim back the sleeving on the power cable and then twist the wire into two points, will it fit either side of the amp connection?? Either that or solder a connection onto the wire and put that on the amp (you may have to trim down the sides of the connector to fit though)

 

Both methods I've tried and tested in my Golf and I had some dirty fat power cable in that!!

dub envy thanks will give it a go...

chrishill would say the wire is as thick as approx 8/9mm but the amp mounting point is only approx 5mm at best??

Sounds like you're trying to put 4 guage into the amp's 8 guage socket. Generally it's only the high end amps that take 4 guage. Your best bet would be to get a distribution block and knock the 4 guage down to 8 and you should be OK.
