chrishill 0 Posted July 28, 2005 how small is the clamp and how thick is the wire? seems a bit odd the clamp would be too small...
dub envy 0 Posted July 28, 2005 If you trim back the sleeving on the power cable and then twist the wire into two points, will it fit either side of the amp connection?? Either that or solder a connection onto the wire and put that on the amp (you may have to trim down the sides of the connector to fit though) Both methods I've tried and tested in my Golf and I had some dirty fat power cable in that!! reaper1_3 0 Posted July 28, 2005 dub envy thanks will give it a go... chrishill would say the wire is as thick as approx 8/9mm but the amp mounting point is only approx 5mm at best??
Supercharged 2 Posted July 28, 2005 Yep, is it a ring type terminal? - if so, split it in 2 and terminate and connect both for a more secure connection.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 28, 2005 Sounds like you're trying to put 4 guage into the amp's 8 guage socket. Generally it's only the high end amps that take 4 guage. Your best bet would be to get a distribution block and knock the 4 guage down to 8 and you should be OK.
