JOHN.JARMAN2 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Vr6 starts then die's after about 2 sec's. It also cut out recently whilst i was driving it. I have been told it could be the fuel sensor or the coil pack, i be very greatfull for any help. Thanks
dinkus 10 Posted July 29, 2005 If it starts fine then dies just after then it sounds like it's probably something to do with the immobiliser. Have a search and see what pops up ;)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 29, 2005 What age is the VR? If it has a factory immobiliser, then what he /\ says.... Otherwise have a look at the VAG-COM and scanning help page to see if anyone's near you to help out.
quicksilver 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Don't make the same mistake I did. Had the same symptoms, spending at least a couple of hours checking all the usual culprits without stopping to check the blindingly obvious. Turned out to that the ignition barrel was springing back past its normal running position because it was old and worn out. :)
JOHN.JARMAN2 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Thanks for that il Check the immobiliser, it is a standard one and the car is on a 95 plate so it could be the immobiliser. Il keep hunting...
