WHAT COOLANT FOR A VR6

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what coolant i should buy for my vr6? Any advise appreciated. Cheers :lol:

2.0 ltrs should be enough for a coolant 40%/60% water mix.

GSF sell G12+ too. And 2litres min, 3litres max depending on how paranoid/close to the arctic circle you live.

 

It's also a rather fetching shade of neon pink 8) :lol:

Get, 2x 1.5ltr bottles (3 ltrs total)

 

That will give 30-35% (VR cooling system 9.5 ltrs or 10 with auto)

Why is the blue anti freeze not good enough though?

The VW G12+ also acts as a corrosion inhibitor for the alloy head and cast iron block as well. It's not just antifreeze like some that are blue, ie glycol or ethanol only.

most antifreeze acts as an anti corrosion inhibitor as a lot of car manufacuresr use now adays,just like ford say use there antifreeze for there cars

At the end of the day the VAG stuff is not expensive so we might as well use what the manufacturer recommends...

I think it came to about 13 quid - i used two 1.5lt bottles as supercharged has suggested. I also bought a big bottle of distilled water.
