Door Handle not working

Hi all.

 

Not sure if this one is a common problem but my drivers door handle dont work.

 

The door seems to open from the inside but nothing from the outside.

 

I will look at the mechanisem tommarow.

 

Is there a weak point in the mechanism?

 

Common problem?

get yourself onto ebay mate 30 quid for a kit repairs both drivers and pass side if nec. I got one 30 min a side (due to fafffing about) but they work. Just rememeber to grease everything up.

Iv got a daves16v kit, it works a treat!! and it wont EVER break again!!

yeah theyre very good, dunno why somthing more tough was fitted in the first place

Does the drivers side door handle unscrew clockwise? Someone told me it does. Ive pulling my hair out trying to unscrew it, have I been doing it the wrong way??

Yep, the drivers door handle usually unscrews in the opposite direction to normal...

If you are a bit skint....daves16v will sell you just the drivers side repair kit......then you can experience the fun in a few months when the passenger handle breaks.

didnt realise someone was selling kits to fix the handle's. Ive just bought one. At least I know where to come when it breaks now, hey!
