Dirtysouth 0 Posted October 10, 2005 AMV8 look smart and good on the track too, still though 911 for me
dinkus 10 Posted October 11, 2005 I'll have the AMV8 as a daily driver and an Exige as a track nail please  Is it me, or is 5th Gear a rather poor-man's Top Gear copycat - look at the effects on the shoot-out bit - how Top Gear is that!? Ah well, it's something to watch I guess :)
Son of a Beesting 0 Posted October 11, 2005 5th Gear a rather poor-man's Top Gear copycat Yeah same thought crossed my mind with the whole going into the office thing. A little bit cheesy I thought as well with Jason and VBH trying to look shocked as they put the times up on the computer. Still sure im going to watch it :D
JT 0 Posted October 11, 2005 ah a total top gear rip off, but better than watchin eastenders
Trig 0 Posted October 11, 2005 I agree, they basically badly copy every bit of top gear + no funny bits. When 'Tiffany Dell' talks to the camera its really annoying as well, watch him next time, he wiggles. It's almost like they have assigned each presenter to emulate a top gear presenter as well: Tiffany = Clarkson Annoying harrier/GT40 dude = Richard Hammond (they could be brothers) Shaggy hair auction man = Shaggy hair TG man and then a female thrown in to try and get one up! but better than watchin eastenders Laughing True. dinkus 10 Posted October 11, 2005 Well it's pretty odd really - the 5th Gear crew have got much better credentials as far as driving skills go than the Top Gear lot, but they're just crap presenters. Harrier/GT40 dude - Jason Plato - err BTCC driver ;) and probably the best of the lot of them - presenter wise Shaggy hair auction man - Tom Ford (does lots of stuff Car and Top Gear magazines) - Bit of a tit really Vicky Butler-Henderson - supposedly race driver type, but seems to be on the show because she can drive fairly well and gives that giggly girl influence  The shaggy haired guy on Top Gear is James May who again, used to write a lot for Car and Top Gear magazine. Richard Hammond is just a car nut that happens to be a pretty good presenter :) More details on the presenters... http://www.five.tv/home/frameset/?content=2284880& http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/profiles/
