Anyone know nuch about Audi S4's???

No this is not my C replacement, that's looking like it's gonna be a mondeo.

 

A mate of mine is looking at the twin turbo S4. Just wondered if anyone had got any views on them?

They are fast as feck (400 odd bhp stock) - looking at paying a fair whack though, but well worth it...I don't know much other then that though.

The RS audi's are usually well tuned up! They add about another 150bhp to an S model and put some huge porsche brakes on them to turn them into an RS.

they are good but NOT 400hp even with a remap. they have issues with high boost on the small k03's. they remap to around 350hp i believe. torque is great from the off and is awesome with a remap.

the s4 is a nice car.

 

to set the record straight as their is quite alot of bad info in this thread so far....

 

they are 2.7 v6 Bi-Turbo and put out 254bhp for early models and 265bhp for later models as standard

 

They are perminante 4wd unlike the s3 that uses haldex.

 

the bi turbo means there is a small turbo for low revs and a bigger one for higher revs.

 

AMD can remap it to about 300-320 bhp and it costs about £900

 

They are very thirsty. dont expect much more than 20-23mpg average from a tank... less if your driving enthusiasticly.

 

as all audi's ther every well built. If you get one with the RS package (i think thats what its called) you get the same recaro seats as i had in my s3 plus some other cool bits.

 

The RS4 was the same engine but different mapping and it might even have used the larger k04 turbos. that put out 380bhp as standard and was only in estate form and even today will set you back the best part of £20k

re-worked heads, head gasket, turbos, airbox, MAF, Injectors, ECU, cams (inlet), fuel pump, fuel rail, intercooler, engine mounts, intake manifold, oil cooler and intake hoses

 

RS4 is actualy one of the ones on my list as a replacement to the S3
