H8RRA 0 Posted November 9, 2005 here to help...... if you fancy a stretch of budget - i'm prob selling the tdi and defiantely the audi cab ;) - few quid more than the £500 tho :(
chrishill 0 Posted November 9, 2005 the tdi might be an option if/when I get shot of the VR!
chrishill 0 Posted November 9, 2005 I guess what it comes down too is me becoming frustrated with it, I dont really want to sell it but I have to, and i've looked into every way I can think of keeping it but its just not possible. when i tried to sell it I had very little serious interest (seems par for the course at the moment) which was frustrating in itself. The hicup has returned after i thought I fixed it with a new (£20!) relay which makes me think its more likely to be the CPS now, and I spent around £100 at the weekend at the dealers buying daft little parts to try and get it in reasonable condition to sell for a fair price which TBH I really shouldnt have with the way my budget is at the moment. maybe i'm just having a bad day but I'm sick to death of thinking about cars at the moment, which is why I was wanting advice on something I wont give a rats a$$ about in terms of wanting to modify it, car park dents, insurance and so forth. Yandards 0 Posted November 9, 2005 Thought about a Rocco? Great fun to drive, superb fuel economy ( I get over 40 to the gallon out of mine or to put it another way nearly 500 miles to a tank) You can get an excellent one for £500 and people do just give them away. No cat or any of the other modern crud that can go wrong and the boot is like a tardis! Bits are pretty cheap for them - especially when compared to a C and the know common faults list is pretty short. No one wants to nick them because they look dated and it will outrun most things on the road.
chrishill 0 Posted November 9, 2005 good points mate, but i cant see the insurance being low enough for my needs... although cant you get 1.6's?

GIXXERUK 0 Posted November 10, 2005 16v, that volvo is a good tool or the diesel escort must be nice to have a car you can just park, instead of thinking "where shall i park " as you circle the car park for the tenth time :-)
H8RRA 0 Posted November 10, 2005 oi - the hill.... I had a gtx scirocco for the wife and it was an absolute minter - it was well nippy, full history and less than £500 years ago. with regard to insurance, i was paying fully comp classic insurance with craig and suttar for about £150-180/year. I wouldn't rule them out or golf gti's (but the rocco's come cheaper and i quite like them) cos you can get good classic policies with declared mileage etc. GOOD CALL YANDARDS. chrishill 0 Posted November 10, 2005 ah, classic insurance might help! i guess with the use of the missus' car my milage could be curbed... hmm... well anyway I've got to get mine fixed and try to shift it first, but its all good advice guys, much apreciated.
