Chris VR6nos 0 Posted November 25, 2005 I know that there was some interest at some time in the past and i've been in talks with a local engineering company that are manufacturing Cat bypass pipes for me for Skylines though i could get corrado ones produced too! Here's a picture of the cover that resides above the rocker cover, normnally plastic and often damaged! There can be letters or words lazer cut out of this plate which is a fairly rigid and heavy gauge stainless steel, i'd like this oppertunity to discuss the exact details to rifine the end product so i can take it to get the program written that controls the machine to cut it out. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 25, 2005 That is mega shiney! Would they be able to do a plainer brushed one? I'd be up for that.
NickVR6 0 Posted November 25, 2005 I definately want one of these mate. Struggled to find anything anywhere, been looking for ages everywhere! any chance for a cover for the left hand side breather housing too?? Looks the dogs!
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted November 25, 2005 yeah, stainless steel standard finish would be shiny but not rediculous to keep clean and brushed finish is just a matter of loading the machine with the finish of material you want. So yeah it can be. Chris
dinkus 10 Posted November 25, 2005 Could be game for one with the original VW logo/DOHC VR6 text on it, depending on price obviously ;)
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Breather housing, which bit do you mean? I've seen a couple of production covers but in my opinion they were very flimsy and not up to the job! It's hard to get across the integrity and quality of the material but anything can be available, the only thing is the price, i would appreciate some kind of feelback on the price for frame of reference. NickVR6 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Just the block shaped housing to the left of the cam cover, that the breather valve comes out of. Not sure how you;d fix one on there though! Money wise, no idea really. £20-£30 for a cheapo rubbish cam cover but £50 plus for a decent quality one. I;d prob pay a bit more than that though for an embossed one as dinkus suggested!! VR6 0 Posted November 25, 2005 Interested but not in the blingy version :)
H8RRA 0 Posted November 25, 2005 i've already had this priced up, chris, including laser etching - we spoke about it months ago. i've created the 3D sheetmetal geometry for drawings and laser cutting. "Here's one I made earlier - in the best blue Peter Fashion :)" Not very shiny at the mo though.
Valver 0 Posted November 25, 2005 How does it fit and held in place though? just clips on or something?........would be interested.
Chris VR6nos 0 Posted November 25, 2005 We shall see what turns out, you looked at this a year ago paul, maybe longer even! I don't like the fit of that one and it's too thin and flimsy, needs a much better grade steel like T312 or T308 and thicker to fit better.
