Ronan 0 Posted December 12, 2005 I have a late interior in my car but the mirrors havent worked since I got the car so I decided to take off the doorcard to see why. This is what I found - is there any way of connecting the old plug into the new loom? I'm guessing people have done it before.
Ronan 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Also found this connector in my door - can anyone tell me what it is?
Supercharged 2 Posted December 12, 2005 I think there is a knowledge base article for this - or you could buy the late loom...

Ronan 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Ok thanks supercharged. If I bought the late loom, how much work is involved in fitting that? And no-one knows what that connector is yet then?
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 12, 2005 That's the door handle connector.
Ronan 0 Posted December 12, 2005 Riiiiiiiiiight. Guess that should be connected then, but then my door handle is busted anyway. Cheers guys.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 12, 2005 It's what triggers the central locking pump....but most people use the alarm plipper to unlock/lock, so don't notice if the handle is connected!
Walesy 0 Posted December 12, 2005 IIRC it's clipped in usually , in a very awkward place ( down the hole behind it ) and you need a child size hand to get at it > ..looks like its been pulled out by a previous owner. EDIT >
Walesy 0 Posted December 12, 2005 It's what triggers the central locking pump....but most people use the alarm plipper to unlock/lock, so don't notice if the handle is connected! Doesn't it controll the full-closure aswell?
Ronan 0 Posted December 12, 2005 I dunno, my ful closure works, and my key doesnt work in the locks anyway.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 12, 2005 The full closure works via the handle when you turn the key to the left and hold. The alarm ECU just pulses the same wire anyway, so you never actually need to use the key in theory.... just in the ignition.
