Claret Badger 0 Posted December 16, 2005 My VR6 Corrado's intermittent wiper sweeps seem to vary in th rain. Sometimes it's 15secs between wipes - other times it drops to almost 7 seconds. I can't say it varies with engine speed - that's to day, i've noticed it doesn't slowly speed up when I accelerate - so I don't think it's a power supply issue. So is this the sign of a cranky wiper setup I've got going on? - or is there somekind of "VW magic wiper pixie function" on these cars?
vr6storm 0 Posted December 16, 2005 chances are its you unknowingly setting the variable wipe pattern..........read yer handbook/manual for more info
Trig 0 Posted December 16, 2005 Yes. If you turn the intermittent wiper on then off straight away, wait a bit, then turn it back on it records how long you waited and wipes at that interval. It's so you can control how often you need a wipe depending on how much its pissing it down :)
catch_twotwo 0 Posted December 16, 2005 Nice feature.... although a little annoying at times. I seem to remember from my mk4 golf that they changed that to a small dial on the wiper stalk instead.
Phil K 0 Posted December 16, 2005 Has been covered on here before and is well documented in the owners manual... it works by turning intermittent on and then off - the amount of time you turn it off for is the amount of time it will set between wipes when you turn intermittent back on...
