vac noise on a vr6

i have always been able to hear i vacum noise on my vr6 from the top back of the engine i think it just the noise as it goes though what vw call the damper just woundered if it the same on all c vr6 or do i have a leak

Check the bit of foam inside hasn't come loose and moved into the pipe. Are you having any idle problems?

It does make a noise, like rushing air, in my experience they all do it.

Yep that's the sound of the VR doing it's sucky sucky thing :-)

 

You should hear it with a Schrick! Sounds like there's white water rapids going on in there.
