Lippy 0 Posted January 20, 2006 http://www.mkivsupra.net - I think may be a good place to have a look over. All I know about them is that I wouldnt mind one and that they can like a drink! Good luck to your mate
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 20, 2006 Isn't the G reg a MK3? Or was that the change over year?
steve_16v 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Yep the G reg is the MK3, mk4's were only for sale in the uk from 1993-1996.
Stan 24v 0 Posted January 20, 2006 Mk 3's are a bit medallion man for my liking. Ive been in one at 140MPH though, and it didnt take long to get there!!!! Mk4's are lots nicer and the NA version has about 250BHP which is a fair whack ;)

logicaltuning 0 Posted January 20, 2006 i had one peice of shite tbh commonly known as king on headgasket eating bottom ends are shite, electrics are dodgy although they are fantastic fun they are thirsty as fook and much above 300bhp in the 7MGT lump is pushing it a 2JZ lump is a good option to throw in but fookin hard to sort. mine used £100 a week in fuel (non turbo!!!!) and i ate a set of tyres in just over a week. then i popped the headgasket and messed up a few of the big end bearings. saw 150mph in mine as the big end went followed by lots of smoke and knocking noises amazingly it still drove for around two weeks and about 500 miles !!! left it on the drive for 3 motnhs not touched and then it started first time! even with all those probs check for removed thermostats to hiude the ehadgasket prob toyota charge £1200 for a new one (fitted ) not including vat so if you own one you HAVE to be handy with a spanner throttles are known for sticking open - mine did the first day i took it out hard, 5,500rpm, into 3rd and the throttle stuck, spun the back wheels up like a bastard when came off clutch - dangerous crap tires will see you spinning in 4th in the wet, which makes the car pointless and useless. i know a bloke who had a turbo and spent £35k over a few years modding and mainly fixing it went out and bought a mk4 TT soon after and has never had a problem, even with 500bhp ;) fun. but only as a second car

logicaltuning 0 Posted January 20, 2006 the TT mk3 was a 2.5 litre jap import only fooookin rare, but quick as, and a damn sight more reliable than the typcial mk3 turbo - which only had 232bhp anyway! shite for a 3litre straight six turbo! de-catting and 2.5" system sees 30 bhp though!
