Cupra Brakes?

Hello

 

I have been offered some Seat Leon Cupra R brake setup for the front of my vr6?

 

Will they fit?

 

any pointers?

 

I have looked at the guide for the 312mm upgrade... is it similar?

I think they're 323x28 and the calipers are huge. You need about 40mm clearance from the rear of the wheel spoke to the hub, which is a lot. You might need spacers depending on your wheels.

312s are a lot slimmer than 4 pots mate and go behind most 16s and 17s without problem.

so apart from the 40mm clearance should there be any other reason that these wont fit??

i know that Tarox do a similar setup which is similar to the brembos but are much slimmer.

40mm is a guess mate, I think it's more than that mate. The smaller brembos for the Ibiza 305mm kit require 38mm clearance and the Leon ones are a fair bit bigger. I changed the pads on my mate's Leon once and the calipers are Heeeeuge!

 

323mm might be too big for 17s aswell because the space the caliper needs above the disc might rib the wheel's inner surface.

 

Lippy, yep Tarox and AP Racing both do kits for VW's and are a bit smaller.

yeah they are - mainly coz SEAT have caught on and whacked up the prices big time.

I havnt got the clearance with my wheels anyway :(

 

would do a deal with some 312mm
