Campaign 0 Posted February 28, 2006 Managed to get a press pass for the above show, and saw some awesome Group B Rally Cars about 5 foot away :) Loads of piccies at http://www.autoposter.co.uk (although, only processed about a third of the 300 odd photos taken so far) Here's some samples... dinkus 10 Posted February 28, 2006 Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty stuff. They're so ugly that they've actually come all the way round to being 'attractive' again. Hmm, maybe not, but they are cool :D
Campaign 0 Posted February 28, 2006 Which one Dinkus, or all of them? I love the look of the Lancia 037 - and that Super/Turbo charged Dino engine :)
Jim 2 Posted February 28, 2006 Doh.. should have gone to this seeing as the Stoneleigh show ground is about 4 miles from my new place! Saw all the signs for it dotted around on Sunday but didn't give it a second thought.
dinkus 10 Posted February 28, 2006 Well all of them really. That Fiat almost looks designed tho :)
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted February 28, 2006 The Fiat looks cool, in a retro type of way 8) ..but the Renault will always look crap! Never liked R5's :)

Campaign 0 Posted February 28, 2006 Cheers Rob, I particularly liked the Lancia 037. There's another shot which would've been brilliant if only it hadn't had a marker post in front of the door as it whizzed along ...
Tempest 0 Posted February 28, 2006 Ahh, the cool seventies and its cars :-) I spotted this event too late, as I would have loved to take my Mk1 Rocco (also 70s retro etc.) there for display. Then again, wintertime, SORN etc. Why not have this in the summer ? Tempest
Furkz 0 Posted February 28, 2006 them early R5's are one of the sexiest beats ever made

Tempest I don't think you'd've got a display - there were very few car clubs there, and nearly all of those that were were motorsport type clubs. Cool show though, met Stirling Moss, Russel Brooks and (short chubby bloke, used to be on Top Gear back in the day, Rally driver/co-driver) in the Media office, had Tea with them, well, they were sat at the same table.
