Just got in touch with my local Autoglym guy, seems pretty good and friendly. Said doing the course isn't a problem and buying all the AG products as well. I assume they turned up in the van with all of the products the first time you saw them?

Also said (unofficially) that the Sealey polisher and the Silverline polisher are the same, only ones £165ish and the other £76ish. They sell both.

Great advice (more than just this page for me  so thanks!). The guide on the Autoglym website is pretty good too I found.

-You could at this point clay bar if you so desire. I sometime do this. 3m seem to produce the best one. the megs one is too hard for my liking and i still cant get my head around why they supply a silicone spray to use with it!?!?. 3m clay and pure water spray works wonders.

Very good guide there Jedi mate!

I think the reason Megs supply a Quik Detailer spray with their clay (as opposed to plain water) is because, as you mention, the clay is quite hard so may need more lubrication than water alone would provide (could possibly mar the paint/clearcoat if not lubricated well enough?) Also it means they can charge a lot more for it!

I'd be interested to try some 3m clay if it's as good as you say!

WELL chuffed with NXT, I bought a kit from Halfords containing the wash mit, NXT wash, Tech Wax and some glass cleaner for £30. Spent 10 minutes washing the car and about 30 - 45 mins waxing it by hand and these are the results. Believe it or not this is pictures of a classic green corrado

Polish usually describes stuff that removes minor blemishes to the paintwork, whereas wax is to seal the cleaned and polished paintwork, making iot more water resistant (water beads up nicely).

What is it with 'Rados and F**d Probes? The guy next door but one has gone and bought a white Probe!

Any-one got a recommendation on Coloured Polish? I use Autoglym Red but the stonechips are just getting whiter, not good on a pearl grey car?

>

Its a car belonging to a family member of a friend (the probe that is) who let me crash when I was down for the CCGB National day.

Believe it or not there are two proper mint Cs parked on the street infront - for those who know Kip & Butterfly said cars need no introduction. :)
