Timo. 0 Posted March 20, 2006 The resistor will have gone. You can by pass it, with a bit of wire. Sounds a bit cowboy ish I know but it works. ANd, its much cheaper than buying a new fan. Its quite easy to get the fan out too. Take the shelf out under the glove box, lie on the car's floor and look up. Press a few clips, twist it and it'll drop out. Happy days T. gradeAfailure 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Thermal fuses/resistors are only about 80p from Maplins - for the sake of not overloading the circuit if the motor's on it's way out, I'd rather replace a fuse... ;) Though it might be that the metal strips behind the fan speed knob aren't making proper contact - that's what it was on mine... As far as the temperature goes, if your passenger footwell isn't flooded (heater matrix gone/bypassed), then you may have an airlock in the cooling system Not that this has been done to death or anything!
VR6 0 Posted March 20, 2006 Yep, closing as this has been extensively covered! Use the search: heater AND setting and resistor Or something similar.
