Exhaust

Recommended Posts

Hi chaps

I notice there is a heat shield fitted on the back of my C just above the rear exhaust silencer. Is this standard?

Only it seems to be loose and rattles about.

I assume it's there to shield the petrol tank from heat .....has anyone discarded theirs?

I just noticed a loud rattle coming from the back of my VR... the heat shield above the back box has come loose. I guess I'll have to get a new one because it looks like the mounting holes in the shield have corroded through completely.... Anyone know of a good way of stopping it rattling for the time being, it sounds like I'm dragging a load of tin cans around!

Could do... I'm guessing that as it's there, it must need to be there though? Or can I get away without having one at all...?

What model of car have you?

I can probably supply a second hand one. Would want you to collect it though as I imagine posting it would be a pain.
