In dash sat nav options and recomendations

Right, due to unforeseen circumstances with the new company motor I'm about to be handed a new Passat TDI S for my new car! I was meant to be getting an SE with nav but this is now not an option...

 

So I am due to get this next week and have been told to get info for a built in nav system... ideally I'd like a 2DIN unit so I don't end up with a stoopid looking 1DIN storage tray and would like it to be DVD playable so I can be pimping 8)

 

Any suggestions? I haven't got a clue about what's good and what's sh** so any advice is of use - having done a bit of a google I'm guessing alpine and pioneer are worth a look and will play DVD's but none seem to be 2DIN :?
