Engine mod advice

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a M reg VR6, 79000 on the clock. Spent a long time looking for a minter! Just put some wheels on her and in the process of installing a jl audi 12" w3 with a Kenwood AMPand head unit, nothing to heavy.

Thinking about may be some small engine mods the car is totaly standard!

Just some cheap performance increases just wondered what would be the best angle to take.

Induction which one works best ?

Superchip ?

Also whats the service intervals on the VR6, I have been told every 6-8000?

It depends what you mean by cheap mods but;-

The BMC Carbon Dynamic Air filter seems to be quite popular, im getting mine in a few days, rumors are 7 or 8 extra BHP so I hear. Around £160.00

Alpina527 does a big bore throttle body at a good price, the quality is superb and gives a very nice throttle response, much less work on the right foot. I paid £120.00 exchange.

Both very easy to fit.

6-8k service intervals!!! fek me! sounds more like an evo 8 or something.

Don't actually know what the interval should be - depends how you drive! Once or twice a year should do the job unless you do spacehip mileage :)
