glue remover

Recommended Posts

i am planning on removing the foam on the underside of my bonnet as it is all manky and torn in places. the foam seems to come off easy enough, but the glue that holds it on is a real pig to shift. does anyone have any ideas what i can use to shift it?????

jims corrado, I normally find that a petrol soaked rag takes off all glue, just don`t smoke while you are doing it.Take care. 8)

There is some specialist tar/gunk remover stuff that you can get.

Have a scour (pun intended :D ) on the internet and if you can't find anything I can ask my mate who works as a valet.

I took 2 sections off the underside of my bonnet , and was a real dog to get the glue off . I used tar & glue remover . The best way i found was to put it in a squirty bottle , spray some on and let it soak in for a few mins , then get a bodyfiller spreader and scrape it off . Keep doing this until you get the thick of it off , then use a soaked rag until you get any excess left over off . ( Put a dust sheet over the engine to soak the excess spray )
