Rob_B 0 Posted July 25, 2006 are there any simple reasons why im getting 8V down the grey/black wire on my headlight loom, even when the swith is off? thought i would ask first incase there are some simple reasons?! thanksin advance, Rob
Henny 0 Posted July 26, 2006 are your indicators switched on? ;)
Rob_B 0 Posted July 26, 2006 nope. if they were you would get 12v down to the lamps. if i switch the indicators on they increase in brightness. i wouldnt normally care as i would remove the bulbs, but ive got angel eyes so it kind or defeats the purpose!!
Henny 0 Posted July 26, 2006 OK, thought I'd check that one... In that case, pull the switch out and disconnect it from the multiplug... see if there's voltage there then... could be a crappy switch...
Rob_B 0 Posted July 28, 2006 still voltage with the switch disconnected. any ideas?
Henny 0 Posted August 3, 2006 nope... that's very odd... :|
Phil K 0 Posted August 3, 2006 Are you sure it's not a Volvo ;) Seems odd... some coutries do require side lights to be on constantly though and I wonder if it could have been wired up like that for that reason? Do the rears light too?
Rob_B 0 Posted August 4, 2006 the side lights are only giving out 8V though when the ignition is off. when its on, the give 12V. the rear lights arent on. its just the nearside side light. if i cant solve it ill disconnect it
16vradge 0 Posted August 4, 2006 It's gotta be related to the parking light - I'd trace the wiring back to the indicator stalk. Also do you have an uprated headlight loom? I'd disconnect it and sort your problem without it - then put it back on once the problems fixed - mine causes me headaches when I have headlight problems.
