Driving with no bonnet, is it legal?

just need to drive somewhere so i can have a new bonnet fitted. but can i drive there with no bonnet?

im guessing its not going to be legal

i've done it before.

 

only about 5 miles though, don't quiet roads.

 

got a few funny looks off the school kids on the way through the village!

with difficulty

i dropped a bonnet of to one guy before and we managed to get it in his rado with rear seats down, his seat forward abit more than usual and passenger seat tilted forward. (i took it down in my old mans volvo estate)

I've done it on my Anglia before and know people who have never had a bonnet on their hot rod. None of them have been pulled over for it.

Would be interesting to see how a Corrado feels with no bonnet on it.. as we all know, they weigh a bloody tonne!

Probably illegal due to the no sharp pointy bits rules of the MOT, a few fairly sharp pointy bits in the engine bay!

do it, will look gangster, take the headlights out too and you will get nice induction too :lol:

 

seriously though i think its illegal if you have pointy bits that can stab some one if they jump out in front of you on the road. something along them lines
