What is that attached to the the underside of the inlet manifold? Is it to do with the EGR?

I wish I knew someone who could show me how to do all this stuff to my engine - I wouldn't know where to start! I've got a Candy White 'Rado, and would love to get it looking tidy under the 'hood' - bonnet :)

I started the gearbox today I spent nearly 4 hours sanding so far.

2 hours later I had this much done

Sand paper and most of the gearbox you need to use your hands so it takes a while, there is 4 hours into it now probably another 4-5 til i'm happy.

Thanks, mine needs to go a bit faster though its not going as planed mostly because the weather is -10 right now who wants to work in that. I'm gonna drop off my gear box for a full rebuild this week if i get ti back by the end of the week the engine will be in on the weekend.
