Corrado G60

Recommended Posts

Hello all!! This question has probably been posted in one form or another many times before by a newbie so forgive me for boring you but.....

A friend of mine is looking to part ex his Corrado G60 for a 325i and has been offered silly money (£500) and he has said I can have it for the same.

The car has 120k on the clock, lots of history though not all VAG, it has had some tuning work done, there is an issue with the throttle cable sticking in the bulk head grommit, the wing has some rust around the side repeater and I know he has had the ignition barrel changed recently every thing else seems pretty ok for a car of its age.

The question is do I buy it ? I have heard plenty of horror stories regarding these cars chewing huges amounts of cash - I understand that it will require more money that a one litre Polo to run but funds for this car/project will be limited.

Is there anything obvious I should look for to tell me the car is going to be a money pit before I hand over any cash?

Any help advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Slim.

if it s been looked after that is a bargain mate! they do cost more than your average car to run but a g60 isnt really your average car so you need to expect a few high bills but if your handy with a spanner nothing is too expensive chap!

if you dont want it matey ill have first dibs on that and give him £550 for his troubles!

Thanks for the advice - think I am going to take the plunge. I have always wanted a Corrado and if it doesn't work out there will be some cheap parts on these boards

Hopefully be back on here soon to post some pics
