SchnellNicky 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Hi all, having now picked up my beautiful VR6 I am looking to upgrade the original Sony cd player fitted in her from new. The car is totally original and I want her to stay that way, so no boom boxes or changers needed, I am looking for an up to date head unit that can be fitted without changing wiring looms (?) etc or adjusting the dash board. I don't mind what make it is and just looking for a cd/mp3 player that can support 50 watts per speaker. Any advice would be gratefully received as I am a real novice at this. Thanks a lot, Nicky.
double-6s 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Alpine are very good for the money. Around the 150 quid mark buys you a pretty good head unit these days. I got a free alpine ipod connector with mine that allows you to pug the ipod in properly without loss of quality, and control it from the head unit. It will also play mp3's if ya like. Something like this will do the job quite nicely but it all depends on your budget ma'am...... http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=4679

double-6s 0 Posted September 9, 2006 Can't go wrong with Alpine in my experience :) Absolutely. Personally I think Alpine are better than similarly priced sony, kenwood, etc, etc, units.

Jim Bowen 1 Posted September 12, 2006 Nakamichi the mutts nuts, looks very subtle too, mine really suits the corrado dash, and doesn't look like a kids toy/christmas decoration :)
smee 0 Posted September 12, 2006 Another vote for Nakamichi, great sounding, very oem looking units.
