Refitting interior

Recommended Posts

Ok prob been covered a million times but am going to ask for advice.

In a couple of weeks I should hopefully have all the bits to change my interior from grey to black.

I am going to strip out everything. Seats, carpets, Dash (new matrixtogo in a well as blk dash) and even the headlining as am fitting a new sunroof at the same time. 8)

When putting it all back together I want to try and get it all fitting snug and lose all the annoying little squeeks and rattles.

What would peeps advise i do?

Fit felt strips against all the joining edges?

Use reams of dynamat. Could do with a bit of soundproofing to be honest.

What you all say. 8)

Did you get a random bag of screws and clips etc form VAG or is there somewhere else to get them as I know I am missing loads.

vag seem to use dark grey coloured screws - lots of places do them (or similar) like halfords. but someone here could perhaps confirm

Hey

I am also embarking on refitting the interior to mine. Have only recently acquired my rado but loving my first VR. The a previous owner had a go at fitting some ICE etc and just broke lots of trim and door card screws so there is loads of rattling and its driving me a little crazy.

I am also missing a few screws etc - especially around the rear door cards - can i get them form VAG? also the screws under neath the driving column are missing and not sure what size they should be.

Also, the part of the dash around the steering wheel column (not sure what its called) is broken form the muppet changing the steering wheel - does anyone know where i can pick up that part?

excuse the long mail.

cheers

There's quite a few breakers that specialise in VW bits, and most have some Corrados in there. Phone round, but sometimes it's hard to explain just exactly which bit you need.

I phone up the breakers round here every fortnight or so to see if they have any C's in but at the moment there's none...

Do a search for breakers here on the forum and it should bring up some results...
