steel exhaust

Recommended Posts

Hello just bought a VR6 - yippee! :p but have a few snags to fix.

I am going to need a new exhaust soon and can't find a supplier for a stainless steel one.

Should I persevere or just go to kwik fit? for a regular one?

The throttle is very stiff but works fine - cable is fine - might be linkage? (hopefully not looks like lots of moulding to remove)

Thanks

Smudge

you should get one quite easily, there are quite a few scotish vr6 owners on here,as for suppliers i think star performance would sell and fit it for you

whatever you do don't get a plain steel one from anywhere other than VW!.....also Miltek's S/S cat-back is cheaper than the stock VW system so you are as well "upgrading"

and as dazzyvr6 has pointed out......star-performance in glenrothes are your best bet for selling and fitting you one

Yes the VW ones are much better grade metal than the stuff you get from Kwicksh** and last ages but if you need more than one section you may as well get a custom system with a lifetime warranty - the Powerflow one on mine is proper off the hook!

I'd be surprised if kwik fit could do you an exhaust anyway.

The only pattern exhaust manufacturer to do one for the VR6

is Walker and it'll cost you £250-£300 fitted.

I had one on mine for six months and never got it to fit without

knocking.

It was manufactured like the Volkswagen one too, with the middle and

back box in one piece so you have to drop the back axle

to fit it. Lovely job.

Hacked mine off with a gas axe after six months and put a Magnex on.

It's lovely. Fits perfect, nice sound, smashing. :D
