Jim 2 Posted November 14, 2006 The Rieger illuminated ones look pretty cool http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20863&highlight= Indeed they are. I took the plunge when I had my Golf and ordered one for that. I had a bit of a problem with fitting as the lip around the edge of the leather, combined with the way the plastic surround clipped onto the Golf gear tunnel surround made it very difficult to fit without it just springing back off again but once I got it on properly it stayed put. Easy to install from a wiring point of view, and looked (and felt) proper quality.. and of course, most importantly it looked OEM.

red_baron 0 Posted November 19, 2006 Sort of related... how do I remove the plastic handbrake moulding (the one that's been replaced by a silver one in carpy25's post above)? I've tried to pull it off forwards but scared I'll end up braking it. Ta
Goldie 2 Posted November 19, 2006 Theres a catch underneath, its a pain to get off!! Carry out a search and there is info about it. Question for OSV, what car did that knob come out of??
OSV 0 Posted November 19, 2006 Its basically the same as the Reiger one mentioned earlier but as aftermarket products gi its very OE looking.
Goldie 2 Posted November 20, 2006 It looks the part, is the gaiter part of it or do they come separately???
Guest Posted November 20, 2006 got an SNS Tuning on too. I like it, and as said above, the bore is very deep, so it sits alot lower than the OE one, which is excellent. (mobile phone camera)
OSV 0 Posted November 20, 2006 The gaitor comes attached, and its all ready to go, choice of illumination colours for gear map too!
Goldie 2 Posted November 20, 2006 Unless they do beige gaitors id need to be able to disconnect it. Definitely given me something to consider here.

TomD 0 Posted December 12, 2006 Here's mine.... bought a new VAG Handbrake Handle and Gear Knob for mine a few months ago, along with a new gear gaitor off the guy on the bay. Makes a huge difference compared to the tatty original, and to be honest, I reckon they look much better than 99.9% of aftermarket stuff. :)
Goldie 2 Posted December 12, 2006 How much did they handbrake handle set you back from the dealers??? I could do with a new one myself
TomD 0 Posted December 17, 2006 I was told it was the only one they had left of the handbrake handles, although I'm sure they'll have more in Germany and they can order them over to the UK. The Handbrake handle was about £25 IIRC, and the knob, about the same. Maybe a bit more! :)
Goldie 2 Posted December 17, 2006 What do you reckon to this, its all my own work. Hoping to get one from a TT in the near future.
