Vibrating at 60MPH+

Hi,

 

I brought 4 new 15" Alloys and tyres the other day and fitted them 2 my corrado, getting rid of the scuffed 17" ones I had on there before. Although there seems to be a problem:

 

As soon as I go 60MPH or faster the whole car starts to vibrate, now this didn't happen on the 17" wheels so have I done something wrong or forgotten to do something?

 

Your help will be truly appreciated :D

CHECK YOUR WHEEL NUTS/BOLTS :shock:

 

 

i had a similar experience after getting a local garage change my cv-boots....they forgot to tighten up the wheel and all the bolts where on finger-tight!!!!!!!!!!! :shock:

I made doubly sure that they we're damn tight before I moved the car. I tightened them with a proper power-tool meant for tightening wheel nuts, although I'll have another look in the morning and double check. :)

Tracking or wheel balance could be out..?

probably balancing and/or tracking,but maybe even a buckled wheel or a bulge in the tyre

Since you say the whole car vibrates I would say a problem with the back wheels, probably balancing. When the front wheels are out its usually just the steering that shakes from side to side.

did you put a hub adapter on??

It was my fault, I forgot to put the spacers on. The car is fine now, thanks for all your help! :D
