Too much play in the wiper linkages!!!

Does anyone have the part numbers for the linkage arms for the wiper mech on an early valver pls?

 

Really gotta get this done as the "swishthunkswishthunk" is really starting to grate.

Matt - does one wiper move independatly of the other??

 

If so they need some attention quick (I left mine and the mech failed one day)

 

Otherwise the Lupo wipers so tend to hit it slightly on full power when it's really p1ssing it down....

 

I changed the crank as it was cheap (you must make sure you get it in the right place with the motor parked) but the wear was in the rubber part of that small arm (less than a 10er)

Thats exactly where the wear is on mine, i had the whole mech out recently to replace the wiper motor, and there is some play in the long cross bar which links the 2 wipers. So i'll be changing that, and the shorter bar which runs from the "crank" arm the the longer connecting bar. Cheap enough bits anyway, surprising really...

I have just replaced the two rods and cleaned and re-greased the two shafts at the weekend - It's like a new car as a result! no more clunk-clunk, clunk-clunk! The short rod from the motor was badly worn and the bronze bearing in the motor gearbox is not the best but it wipes beautifully smoothly - good thing considering the amount of rain we get in Ireland:-)

can you just replace the plastic bushings in the arms? or are they impossible to get hold of?

Reckon you'd have to buy the arms complete, doubt the bushes would be available seperately....

Are the part numbers correct for those linkages? (in the post with the image)

 

I think the ones listed above are for LHD cars? Can anyone confirm by measuring quickly as I was wanting to order today and don't have the C with me.
