CoxyLaad 0 Posted December 8, 2006 getaway! that was never 100mph in fourth. I had a mk2 1.8T with a very similar spec and it couldnt do that. To accelerate like that from 100mph you would need mega power. I'm calling BS

It was recently rolling roaded at jkm motor services down in portsmouth on there dyno dynamics rollers, and it made the figures quoted above. it runs on a ko4 turbo setup its running around 20spsi at the moment. what turbo was ur 1.8t running coxylaad stu

stu200 0 Posted December 8, 2006 The internals havnt been touched, however these guys checked it over on the rolling road and all was dandy. http://www.jkm.org.uk/performance/Gallery.htm Jim who owns this buisness is really the dogs danglies with anything with a turbo, checkout some of his previous projects. stu

VR6 South 0 Posted December 8, 2006 Good to see that he has got a Corrado (Storm) on the rollers!
CoxyLaad 0 Posted December 8, 2006 I am not doubting the power figures, mine was a 1.8T running around 220bhp on DTA management. I hvae just never seen a car accelerate like that from 100mph, especially if the camera car is a vr in 4th flooring it too. I have had a vr too so I know theres not much in it. totally different driving styles to get the best out of them mind. thats motorbike fast, and my 1.8T got blitzed by a zzr
Shaggy 0 Posted December 8, 2006 i dunno.... it depends what gearbox he has on the golf?? if its a normal 8v box and you are right in the powerband then i am sure it would take off! also noticed he changes gear quite soon after accelerating so he must have been at atleast 4k rpm to get that kinda acceleration...? stu200 0 Posted December 8, 2006 hes using an o2j box from a mk4 golf, the origanal o2o box was just silly used to spin up in 4th!!! untill the diff exploded out the casing!! lol stu p.s mike im just up the road in bedhampton, me and my mate often take a drive up to goodwood circut in the corrado and the golf, usually on a saturday as they have all sorts up there, your welcome to come along, perhaps see if there is any other owners in the area and were go for a pint?
