Jim 2 Posted December 25, 2006 Merry Christmas folks! Well it turns out my Corrado did get some presents in the end. My folks went a bit beserk and bought me lots of stuff to get me started with some tools finally. My dad went to Machine Mart and picked up: * Tool Chest with 3 sliding drawers * Ring spanner set * Socket set * Allen key set * Huge torque wrench * Irwin bolt grippers (invaluable on an old Rado!) I can't even remeber the rest of it but it does mean now that I have no excuse and have a whole load of tools to finally do some work on the car! Just need to pluck up the courage now to tackle it ;)
Andy665 0 Posted December 25, 2006 Sounds like you had a good result Jim, so many jobs are much easier when you have some decent and correct tools

Jim 2 Posted December 25, 2006 Yeah they all seem to be really nice quality. TBH I don't know what constitutes good and bad in the tool world but its all Clarke stuff and most of it has a life time warranty. The torque wrench is huge and feels incredibly well made so.. look forward to using some of it now! Could do with a trolley jack and some axel stands though before I start doing anything on it.. Andy665 0 Posted December 25, 2006 I've been building a tool collection for a couple of years now - if nothing else it gives you the confidence to tackle jobs. The Irwin bolt grippers are superb, helped me out on countless occassions.

corozin 0 Posted December 31, 2006 I treated mine to what it likes doing best... a full tank of fuel and a record breaking run home to Bournemouth from my brother's place in Milton Keynes on Xmas night. Distance = 134 miles Time = 1h 36m Do the math... :D

scarlet_vr6 0 Posted January 2, 2007 mine's got a new tensioner since I broke down on the way home after Christmas. Took about 5 hrs to get home instead of 1 but it saved me plenty of petrol
