dr_mat 0 Posted October 15, 2003 You've changed the auto gearbox fluid? Has that been done at the specified intervals?
rjm3 0 Posted October 15, 2003 No that hasn't been done But I'll do it right away..any thing i should be aware of? thanks for a quick reply...regards...ps as i depress the brake pedal further it seems to vibrate even more??thanks again
dr_mat 0 Posted October 15, 2003 Could well be a vacuum problem then. Do the revs drop? I'm far from an expert on the foibles of auto gearboxes...
Supercharged 2 Posted October 15, 2003 Yeah, I've heard of this before... (not with a corrado in particular) But a faulty Brake servo cauing problems (either vacumn or power related) The other thing I thought of, as its ok in N, is a faulty torque converter but I think this would require specialist knowledge of auto boxes to diagnose. rjm3 0 Posted October 15, 2003 thanks for all thoughts...idle or revs stay the same...going to block the vaccuum assist tonight and see if it makes a difference...regards

choumbie 0 Posted October 30, 2003 My car idles really strangely...It goes up and down from about 1500 to 100 and back and forth....It goes up, and then goes back down, and then right back up...then after the car has been running for a bit...it idles normally....Im currently running my car w/out the supercharger...does this have anything to do with it? Thanks. -alex
rjm3 0 Posted October 30, 2003 sounds like a vacuum leak..or the idle air valve is dirty...cleaned mine helped greatly..many threads on this regards jerry
Supercharged 2 Posted October 30, 2003 .Im currently running my car w/out the supercharger...does this have anything to do with it? Thanks. I wouldn't have thought it would help!
choumbie 0 Posted October 31, 2003 When i bought the car...the supercharger wasnt in the car...and the car really drags ass at the moment....Ive never driven a corrado with the supercharger...Im hoping they go a little bit faster than what mine does now...About how much HP does the charger alone give the car? Right now....ide be lucky if i could do 0 to 60 in about 20 seconds... :x
Henny 0 Posted October 31, 2003 Standard 8V GTI engine (basically the same as the G60 but without the 'charger) is about 115BHP. Standard G60 engine WITH supercharger is 160BHP. I'd guess that you'll be about 60BHP down at the moment, you're fueling will be WAY out (running VERY rich!) and you'll get overtaken by snails... :? You'll also have lost a shed load of low down torque (which is the important power measurement)... :? Get a Supercharger fitted and you'll be laughing in a BIG way! 8)
Supercharged 2 Posted October 31, 2003 The G-Lader is said to make the 1.8 the equivilent of a 2.6 ltr engine! But if you havn't done anything to compensate for the lack of supercharger, your car will be probably be running like a 1.4... so you will notice a HUGE difference! W3RKD 0 Posted October 31, 2003 80 ish bhp with no charger as to the low comp pistons ....
joebloggsVR69 0 Posted October 31, 2003 80 ish bhp with no charger as to the low comp pistons .... I'm sure I read it was 100bhp without the supercharger.. Also, stock G60 makes 0.6 bar doesnt it? Which is 60% of 100bhp So 100bhp +60bhp from the charger is 160bhp, the stock output :D
Joe M 0 Posted October 31, 2003 Doesnt work like that though as it will be a negative pressure in there without the charger.
vr6storm 0 Posted November 1, 2003 The G-Lader is said to make the 1.8 the equivilent of a 2.6 ltr engine! ****ANORAK ALERT here****.........the Golf rallye has a smaller displacement than the Corrado & Golf GTi G60 so that when the conversion like supercharged has mentioned is applied it makes it into 2.5l and under catergory for the class it was in

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 1, 2003 Correct, 1763cc x 1.4 = 2468.2 equivalent NA capacity. Kev
