corozin 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Tripped over this website a few days ago. Great application of new technology to develop something really different, although I'm not sure about the costs involved! Apparently they went down a wheeze at SEMA. http://www.forgiato.com/radurra/index.htm
double-6s 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Yeah I saw them at SEMA (I wasn't actually there). Disgusting aren't they.
Jim 2 Posted January 3, 2007 Nice and novel new idea I have to say! Not seen owt like that before!
mrbeige 0 Posted January 3, 2007 I quite like them to be honest, but they would be a total pain in the arse to keep clean! Especially on the inside!!
BigTartanJudge 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Look nice but at $25,000 for a set of 5, (no not a mistype), I think I will pass TBH........
ben16v 0 Posted January 3, 2007 cool, especially on the chopper.... $5000 a wheel and my silly little brakes would look stupid in there
corozin 0 Posted January 3, 2007 Actually at $5,000 per wheel they are CHEAP in terms of custom motorcycle wheels. It's not uncommon for bespoke rear billet wheels for show choppers to top $10k-$12k. Indeed the "hubless" bike wheels pioneered by people like Billy Lane and Mike Brown have special ring bearings which are the best part of $10k just for the bearing parts! I'm just wondering if we'll ever see a set of these lexan wheels fitted to one of the Club Charly's lowriders later this season... if anyone fits them it'll be one of those guys I think

BigTartanJudge 0 Posted January 3, 2007 was really talking in terms of normal alloy wheel prices for cars, still they do look good and I guess if money was no objct and I had a custom lowrider / chopper of whatever then I would consider them.
corozin 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Oh I agree with you there... makes a mint set of BBS RS look like a sound investment don't they !!

CoxyLaad 0 Posted January 4, 2007 eh?! how do those work then? glass spokes or something?
herisites 0 Posted January 4, 2007 They are interesting, not my cuppa though. Their logo isn't a rip off of a certain football team logo at all is it
Lippy 0 Posted January 4, 2007 they look wicked!
Goldie 2 Posted January 4, 2007 eh?! how do those work then? glass spokes or something? Im the same, i must be missing something here..
herisites 0 Posted January 4, 2007 They use strong polycarbonate centres and super strong aluminium rims
Dub_nut_g60 0 Posted January 4, 2007 the face is effectively a sheet or perspex. Sonds like its actually a fraction larger than the hole so it gets held in by pressure, the same way diamonds are held into their fixings without glue etc... Looks different, would get people looking twice no doubt!
Goldie 2 Posted January 4, 2007 Well you live and learn....
herisites 0 Posted January 4, 2007 I think they look superb on the chopper but too 2 fast 2 furious on the car. Plus as they have a clear face they would get filthy from brake dust and you would have to take the wheels off to clean them every day
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 5, 2007 Repost! Not sure on the brake cooling of these rims though.... but at least they'd be bullet proof :-) Anyone seen the $2.5Million USD diamond cluster wheels yet......and the 32 inchers for SUVs?

herisites 0 Posted January 5, 2007 You just know that there will eventually be some cheap knock offs of these and chavs will be fitting them on their paxos to show off their measly brakes
