iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 clio 197? Ferrari 360cs The 360CS made 425bhp from 3.6 litres not under 2 litre Honda K20A2 (UK) - 98.5 BHP / L - Civic Type R Honda K20A (JDM) - 110 BHP / L - Civic Type R (Japanese) Honda B16B - 116 BHP / L - EK9 Civic Type R Honda F20 - 120 BHP / L - S2000 the s2000 has to be the best production bhp per litre car out there me thinks the Caterham R500 has 128 bhp/litre 911 gt3 115bhp per litre but obviously not under 2 litre
saysomestuff 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Ariel Atom? EDIT - yep 1998cc - 220bhp - not strictly a production car though i spose
veedub 0 Posted January 10, 2007 How long has honda been european?? I think the Clio is the best shot - I was thinking french too!
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 arial atom is and isn't surely as they are hand built race spec cars not really a full on mass production another interesting engine i just though of it the celica 1.8vvti is that a turbo as its got 190bhp if so no worries scrap all this veedub just said european i forgot that sorry

Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted January 10, 2007 The Celica 190 aint turbo'd but also ain't European either EDIT- D'oh!
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 its a hard question really as i cant think of a european 100bhp per litre being under 2000cc theres loads over it ferrari 360cs 911 gt3, bmw m3 m5 or rs4 just does it i think
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 ah what about the racing puma whats the bhp on them? just checked dont worry not included in the comp but the BMW 320d, the D3 has 100bhp per litre edit: mini cooper S does it but its not n/a
Blue_Joe 0 Posted January 10, 2007 The Lotus Exige in standard form (not the Exige S as it's supercharged) is 190bhp, not quite but almost the 200bhp level. But that is from a 1796cc Engine. Therefore it does break the 100bhp per litre at 105.8bhp per litre!
Lippy 0 Posted January 10, 2007 sure there will be some cosworth engines knocking about, depends on them being NA rather than FI
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 you could be picky with the exige as that has the toyota engine in
Blue_Joe 0 Posted January 10, 2007 But its a european car!
Storm Monkey 0 Posted January 10, 2007 Loads of the Niche market cars like Caterham and Tiger, or any other tuned bike engined car, but not exactly mass produced. The closest is probably the Caterham superlite, @ 210 BHP from a 2.0 duratech, so 105 bhp/l and at 500kg, 420bhp/ton
Blue_Joe 0 Posted January 10, 2007 But as you say it's not really a "production" car! I cant think of anything that tops the exige that comes into production bracket. And even the Exige is pushing the boundaries of production!
chubbybrown 0 Posted January 10, 2007 How much is in a 1.8 celica T sport?
steve_16v 0 Posted January 10, 2007 They may not be mass produced but Caterhams (factory built ones) and Lotus's are still classed as production cars, in fact the Caterham R500 held the Autocar 0-100-0 mph production car world record in 2004. That has 230bhp from a n/a rover 1.8 k-series engine (128bhp per litre!).
iow_corrado_g60 0 Posted January 10, 2007 ive already said it the 197 clio its the closest http://www.renault.co.uk/CVDPricesAndData.aspx?mi=1036
